About The Charter Oak Restaurant

Located in St. Helena, The Charter Oak focuses on a soulful, communal approach to Napa Valley dining. The kitchen is centered around a large hearth, where simple, unadorned ingredients are transformed through wood-fire cooking. This creates an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and approachable, perfect for those seeking an authentic connection to the local landscape. The menu highlights the relationship between the land and the table, with much of the produce harvested from the restaurant's nearby 3.5-acre farm. Guests can enjoy signatures like house-cultured butter on fresh bread, seasonal raw vegetables with fermented soy dip, and robust mains like hearth-grilled chicken and aged beef. The family-style service encourages sharing and celebration among friends and family. Whether you are stopping by for the casual 'Locals' Lunch' or a multi-course dinner, the experience is elevated by a curated list of local wines and craft cocktails. With its warm, rustic interior and seasonal outdoor options like the Yurt Village, it is a staple for anyone exploring the culinary depth of Napa Valley.

Napa Valley Restaurant

"We arrived early for our reservation at Charter Oak and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. Our waiter was warm, attentive, and happy to answer all of our questions. We decided to splurge on the steak and caviar flatbread, absolutely worth it. Everything was incredible and truly exceeded our expectations. The only minor note was that the steak was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium well. It may have just been a simple misunderstanding, and we didn’t mention it at the time. Overall, was great with the exception of the steak being overcooked."
